The Story of

Mt. Pleasant Farms

A Heart-led Beginning

Mt. Pleasant Farms is a heart-led vision shaped by Kate Fehn, founder and owner of Mt. Pleasant Farms LLC. A former early childhood educator, Kate has always been drawn to creativity, connection, and meaningful experiences. Today, that passion lives on through her work as a photographer and as the creative force behind the farm—where storytelling, artistry, and the land exist in quiet harmony.

Kate’s connection to the land began long before Mt. Pleasant Farms. Growing up on her grandparents’ farm, she developed an early appreciation for open space, gardens, and the understated beauty of rural life. Watching the land change with the seasons, and learning to care for it with intention, shaped her deep respect for nature and her belief that meaningful moments are often rooted in place.

Mt. Pleasant Farms was created from that belief.

Kate envisioned a space that honors the land’s past while gently shaping its future—a place where preservation and beauty coexist, and where history meets modern storytelling. Every detail reflects intentional design, thoughtful creative direction, and a deep reverence for both heritage and experience.

As a photographer and lifelong creative, Kate was intentional about creating a space that feels open, welcoming, and quietly inspiring. Mt. Pleasant Farms is a place to arrive, to exhale, and to feel encouraged to explore creativity in its many forms—through photography, curated gatherings, and thoughtfully designed experiences.

Under Kate’s vision, the land has been reimagined into an ever-evolving creative setting. Gardens, gathering spaces, and styled environments invite visitors to slow down, connect, and experience the property with intention. Mt. Pleasant Farms is a space shared with creatives and storytellers who value beauty, intention, and connection.

Rooted in History

Originally built in 1724 as the Shreve Homestead, the property — now known as Mt. Pleasant Farms — stands more than 300 years old, a quiet testament to generations of land, labor, and care.

Set in Columbus, New Jersey, Mt. Pleasant Farms remains deeply rooted in that legacy. Long before it became a place of gathering and creativity, the land was a working agricultural farm shaped by those who lived here and tended it with intention. That enduring stewardship continues to guide how the grounds are preserved, respected, and thoughtfully shared today.

Thoughtfully reimagined rather than reinvented, the farm reflects a quiet balance between past and present. Manicured gardens, open pastures, and refined rustic details honor its agricultural beginnings while allowing its historic character to evolve gracefully. Each element has been intentionally considered, creating a setting where heritage and modern elegance exist in effortless harmony.
